Your problem is that not only the 114 NAM members, but 190 of all 191 members
of the UN agree with the NAM view, though some would be reluctant to say so
publicly.
The problem is how to coax China and Russia into accepting an item on
Burma/Myanmar for discussion at the Security Council. Both China and Russia
suspect that the Havel-Tutu report was produced in connivance with the US
Administration, and their suspicions, whether soundly based or not, at once
set them against its conclusions.
Not well handled by the US, but let's see what Condi can do when she visits
Kuala Lumpur next week, if she makes it........
Derek

Dear All:
If the UN do not solve our Country, we should solve our own problem, so
why don't we all living all over the world should put in Money (any
amounts that people want to put in), and hire some Mercenaries, contacts
all our ethnic groups and start fighting all the DOGS's strong camps, if
we are not united to fight with Force, those Dogs will never give up,
I'm so fed up to hear about our people suffering, someone should
organize this kind of movement, when it ready, count me in. God Bless
Burma.

I agree with you. But it doesn't help you get Burma on to the UNSC agenda,
if that is what you want. Personally, I wouldn't bother. What is the point
of some wishy-washy, watered down, non-binding UNSC Presidency Statement
next October when all the draft Resolutions have been tossed out of the
window? It is what happens in Burma which will really count.
